Help

Quick answers to the things people ask most. Can't find yours? Email hello@studyday.co.uk.

How do I change a session?

Tap or click it. You can change the subject, what you'll do, the day, the start time and how long it lasts.

How do I move a session?

On a laptop, drag it to another day, or drop it on another session to swap the two. On a phone, tap it, pick a new day and press Save. Dragging works on a computer.

How do I add or remove sessions?

Use the + under any day to add one. To add or take away one session on every day at once, use "Sessions a day" in the side panel. To remove a single session, tap it and choose Delete. Undo brings it back.

I made a mistake

Press Undo. It steps back through your changes one at a time.

What does Shuffle do?

It keeps your times but deals the subjects out again, in case you want a different mix.

How do I print it?

Choose "Save or share", then "Print or save as PDF". It is set up for A4 landscape. To get a PDF, pick "Save as PDF" as the printer.

How do I get it on my phone?

Choose "Save or share", then "Copy a link" or "Email it to myself", and open the link on your phone. "Phone wallpaper" saves a picture sized for your lock screen.

How do I compare with a friend?

Ask them to send you their link. Open it on the device that has your timetable, and choose "See the overlap".

Can a parent or tutor see my timetable?

Yes. Choose "Save or share", then "Copy a view-only link". They can look at your week but not change it, and it never replaces a timetable they have of their own.

I opened a friend's link. Where's mine?

Still there. A friend's timetable opens next to yours with a banner at the top. Press "View theirs" to look, and "Back to mine" to return. Yours is only replaced if you press "Use theirs", and Undo brings it back straight after.

Where is my timetable saved?

In your browser, on your device. It will be there when you come back. It does not move between devices by itself, so use the link for that.

Can I add exam dates?

Yes, if you want to. In the Subjects list, press "Add exam date" under a subject. You'll see how many days are left, and the dates are printed at the bottom of your timetable. Press "Clear" to take one off.

What do the session types mean?

Tap any session and you'll see a one-line "How" under what you'll do. For example, blurting means writing everything you know about a topic, then checking your notes and adding what you missed in another colour.

Can I see the guide again?

Yes. Press the ? button at the top of your timetable.

I'm a teacher. Can I use it with my class?

Yes. See the teachers page for a 20-minute lesson and posters to print.

What if I miss a session?

Don't start again. Drag it to a free spot later in the week, or just skip it and pick up with the next one. A plan you mostly keep is still working.

How much should I revise a day?

There's no magic number. Start with what you can keep up for a whole week. If that feels easy, use "Sessions a day" to add one more. Short sessions with breaks work better than long ones without.

Can I have a different timetable for the holidays?

Each browser keeps one timetable. Before you change yours for the holidays, use "Copy a link" to keep your term-time version. When term starts, open that link and choose "Use theirs" to switch back.

Will I lose it if I clear my browser?

Yes, clearing your browsing data deletes it. Keep a copy by using "Copy a link" or "Email it to myself". Opening that link brings it back.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once you've opened StudyDay on a device, it keeps working with no signal.

Does it sync between my phone and laptop?

Not on its own, because nothing is stored on our side. Copy the link on one device and open it on the other.

How do I add football, a job or other plans?

In the side panel, under "Clubs, jobs and plans", press "+ Add football, a job or anything else". Or press "+ Add" under any day and choose "Football, job or plans". Pick the days, the time and how long it lasts. With "Move revision out of the way" on, any revision that clashes moves to after it.

What are the outlined, striped blocks?

Things that aren't revision, like football, a job or dinner. Add one with "Football, job or plans". They don't count towards your revision hours.

What does Focus do?

It tells StudyDay which subjects need more time. Set a subject to More, then press Shuffle, and it gets more of the sessions.

How do I move a session on my phone?

Tap it, change the day, and press Save. Dragging sessions is for computers, where you have a mouse or trackpad.
